Steering is important in business. You've got to steer through the mine field of customer demands, market demands, a changing economy, various management initiatives; steering is vital to all of us in sales.
A thank you to Brad Trnavsky for this:
You can't steer a vehicle or almost anything else (including your sales career) unless you're moving forward. You can spend all afternoon steering the steering wheel on your car, but it will be wasted effort unless you're going forward at the same time.
Forward motion is an extraordinarily valuable principle. No matter how challenging your day, your year, your career, just keep moving forward. Baby steps are better than no steps. Huge steps are better than baby steps. Forward movement makes steering count.
Forward movement creates winners.
