In 24 hours (give or take), much of the United States will be on a holiday weekend. It might be tempting to lay low and start the holiday early, like maybe right now.
But between now and Monday July 6, a lot of business will be done. Customers will be buying all sorts of products or service. So here's my advice:
DON'T START YOUR HOLIDAY WEEKEND EARLY!
- Stay late today. Get some work done. Make some contacts with people who will be home.
- Catch up on your phone calls BEFORE July 4. Believe it or not, many millions of dollars of products will be sold tomorrow on July 3. So get off your butt and go after it.
- Catch prospects at their work numbers; some are already on holiday, but many will be staying to try to get caught up at work.
- Create urgency for those prospects you need to follow-up with: "I'd like to help you get this off your plate so you can have it settled before the holiday weekend, so how about if we get your widget ordered?"
- Instead of working 20% less hard today and tomorrow, work 20% MORE today and tomorrow. While your competitors are chillaxin', you'll be out there doing your thing, and getting paid for it.
